Reflections on a Be Impeccable with Your Word Conversation
The 1st Agreement of Toltec Wisdom: Be Impeccable with Your Word.
Words are symbols representing the underlying energy. As our words reach another, we are both affected by that energy. To be impeccable is to use words and thoughts in Love and truth. (I use capital L Love to represent God.)
I encourage each of us to witness our thoughts and spoken words today, not just to others, but our self-talk too. Is what you’re saying or thinking really true? Not true to your opinions, but true to the truth of God/Love. If not, catch yourself. Our words become our actions and our beliefs.
When we “agree” (usually unwittingly) to others’ opinions of us, we accept them as our limp truth. Parents, family, teachers, acquaintances, advertisements, social media, and literally everyone influence us with opinions of how we should be, look, think and act. We agree to those opinions when we try to change ourselves to match their expectations or mentally beat ourselves up for being any type of “not good enough.” When we are not aware of the acceptance, we’re reacting blindly (and usually miserably). If we don’t revisit those agreements with awareness, we don’t challenge them. We often live as if those opinions are our truth. Spoiler alert: they’re not our truth. Our truth is much deeper and grander. We are children of God. We are perfect creations. We are worthy of love. We are loved.
Unfortunately, we live in the “smokey mirror” of illusions and fog and don’t see our truth clearly. Let’s consciously review our thoughts and our agreements. Let’s consciously choose to accept those that support the truth of our creation. Let’s consciously choose to allow the Light of Love to shine through us.
Here’s another thing. When we have agreed to those negative opinions or those restrictions that don’t serve the truth of who we are, we shut off that part of ourselves to protect it. What part, you ask? Follow the pain. That part. That part of us needs re-conditioning, strengthening and Love. Let’s be patient with ourselves as we nurture that shriveled part of our inner lives. Let’s be aware of what needs our attention. Let’s use our attention and awareness to exercise our inner strength. Let’s re-connect to all the parts of ourselves, so we live in wholeness. And, let’s continue to support each other on the journey.
Love you, fabulous friends.
xoxo
