Happy 100th Birthday, Sophie Doggie!
Sophie Doggie is our centenarian (in dog years)! The oldest one in the Fam now.
We did celebrate with a parade! Friends joined in our silly shenanigans… we marched (in an everyone-marching-to-his-own-drummer sort of way) with a Sophie Is 100 banner leading us, as we wore our Miracle Dog t-shirts and fell into line (not really) with colorful balloons, horns, bicycles, tricycles, a variety of dogs, dog treats to share and a ruckus. The dog treats caused a bit of chaos as they discovered I had an open bag.
Sophie, who has been old, slow and happy, really enjoyed herself. The enormous puppy next door and his enthusiastic greeting didn’t rattle her. The neighbor dog she’ll bark at before any humans even see her coming was welcomed by our old girl. Her best friend and walking partner just calmly trotted in and out of the crowd, and the newest puppy on the block was a spitfire who fit right in.
We all laughed, sang and enjoyed our amateur parading skills. We only made it to the end of the block before coming back for bowls of water, a puppy pool and ice cream.
When we finally went back into the house, Sophie, like a true lab, reminded me it was time for her tricks-n-treats, even though she had a party full of treats. I happily squeezed organic lemon into gel capsules and hid them in roast beef… just because she hit 100, no need to stop what’s working!
I’ll continue with the lemon, oils and such as I decide the next milestone to celebrate. After all, we’ve already got the t-shirts.
Love and Miracles.
