Trail mix.
As nuts are a good source of protein, and chocolate is delicious, trail mix is good go-to snack. I prefer to make my own, so I can choose the quality of ingredients. I buy organic nuts, good quality chocolate (dark is better than milk) and dried berries. I slice open the bags, dump them in a big bowl, gently mix, then store in mason jars, because they’re pretty.
Up side: you choose the quality of your ingredients and the flavors you like. And, each time you can do it a little differently for variety.
Choose your nuts, organically grown are best:
Macadamias
Pistachios
Hazelnuts
Pecans
Walnuts
Almonds
Coconuts
Do NOT use:
Cashews
Peanuts
Both are high in lectins, the insoluable protein that wreaks havoc on your system.
Choose dried fruits:
Berries (except goji)
Apricots
Choose chocolate:
90% or darker is best for you
