Let's Stop Getting Ready to Get Ready

Let's Stop Getting Ready to Get Ready

Hi,

What are your interests? What’s your passion? What is the new thing you’d like to try? Dance? Martial arts? An instrument? Exploration? Travel? Painting? Volleyball? Golf? Tennis? New pet? New group? New friends? New perspective? New career? Where is the place you feel the need for a paved path rather than this bumpy gravel road?  Are you waiting for the construction of a highway? Could you perhaps put on some supportive shoes and walk the road you’re already on?

Take the first step. Learn as you go… Life is a fully tenured teacher.

Studies show men typically will “go for” the new thing if they feel 60% ready, yet women typically wait until they are close to 100%. Digest that a sec.

In this moment, I’d like to give you a hug and tell you it’ll be ok. Perfect? Nah. Ok? Absolutely. Know why? Because we learn from everything. If it works, do it again. If it goes poorly, don’t do it again. Evaluate, then take the next step.

When you start your new thing, go ahead and focus, but make sure to lift your eyes and notice the support around you. With your head down, you may not see the people or resources ready to assist you on your journey.

Invite yourSelf along. Spend some time with you. You are worthy of this new endeavor. Not only are you are an excellent partner for this journey, you are holding the guide.

xoxo
