Imagine the to-do list is complete, all needs are tended, the schedule is clear. You have an entire free day. (sigh) Feel your shoulders release and your airflow regulate to a slow and steady baby-belly breath.  

What do you do with this Me time… soak in a bubble bath, read by the fire, cuddle your pet, jog, hike a mountain, paint a picture, write a poem, build, play the piano, photograph nature, compose a song, dance, play your sport, sew an outfit, explore a culture, sing? When do you feel most like you? What is your self-expression where you feel refreshing energy and boundless joy? 

Been a while? Dust off the memory: picture the uniqueness of a newborn or the uninhibited playtime of a toddler. Littles act so genuinely in their own self-expression; it’s one of the greatest marvels of life. Each Little just is. Not affected by others’ expectations and silly rules, a Little is purely authentic. Her inner beauty shines forth without effort but with strength and purity of self.       

Wonder why Littles have enviable energy? Is it perhaps because they live in a place of true self-expression? Conforming to outdated societal norms is exhausting. We get so busy with the to-dos and must-thinks, we don’t pause to notice days and days are passing without us even acknowledging our authentic selves. Are we lost in plain sight?
