Freedom from Festering
What if… we look at forgiveness as the understanding that while another made hurtful mistakes, he did his best based on his lifetime of choices and circumstances? We each are continually progressing through life. There is no end goal; this is an infinite game. If we acknowledge that although we were upset or even devastated, the other couldn’t offer better, it’s easier to accept. Acceptance simply means knowing we cannot change what happened. Acceptance is not inactivity. Quite the opposite: really experiencing and feeling what is happening fuels our most informed choices. Forgiveness frees your mind to choose the best next step to move forward on your own path.
